May 2007 - JKL Issue Warning about Under-insured rogue Civil Engineering companies undertaking tunnelling and heading projects.

JKL (Leeds) Ltd have issued a warning to the tunnelling and civil engineering industries about the threat posed by some companies, who are undertaking works with inadequate insurance, PPE and Safety Procedures.

John Kevin Lennon, managing director of JKL told The Contract Journal, he is increasingly concerned that firms are winning work to connect new developments to sewers via a tunnel with a timber heading even though they lack the correct insurance, equipment, experience, or PPE.
